A Beautiful Thing

I have been to A LOT of weddings in my day - I think the count is up to 15 weddings within 15 months and I still have a few of those to go. I spend a lot of time searching blogs and if my favorites list didn't include a few wedding blogs then I wouldn't be considered a girl, you know the kind who love's sappy, girly, romantic stuff.

My favorite wedding blogs:
Style Me Pretty - on which my friend Rachel's Wedding was featured a few weeks ago. I loved being able to witness this beautiful event.
Once Wed
Lovely and Gracious
Utterly Engaged
Grey Likes Weddings
Snippet & Ink
Green Wedding Shoes

Who cares that I'm not engaged and planning a wedding. I still love to get inspired by all of these beautiful weddings.

Last weekend my friend Lindsey had one of these beautiful inspiring weddings. The ceremony was just outside a small town, which I have driven through a million times. I would never expect to find such a beautiful place in this small town.
I wish I had a better camera, but I guess these will have to do. After the ceremony we got to visit with all our friends. It's always great to see everyone since we all live in different places now.
Christi and I got a little red after partaking in my favorite summertime activity.
We had great BBQ and delicious cake. Isn't Lindesy's cake beautiful? I think she made the little flowers. In fact, I know she made them - she's so crafty!
groom's cake - he LOVES Dr. Pepper
the candy buffet - party favors!
first dance
See what I mean about the venue? It's beautiful!
And finally, a picture with the gorgeous bride! Love you, miss Lindsey! I pray that you and Khurt will have a very blessed and fruitful marriage.

West Texas

Last friday my sister and I traveled home because I had to attend a wedding and we wanted to spend father's day with our dad. We both took the friday off in order to spend an extra day at home. We left on thursday evening and drove the 6 hours home. About half-way home we got to enjoy yet another beautiful West Texas sunset.
Have you ever seen anything like it? If not, you're missing out!

On friday evening my best friend and her boyfriend, Christi and Josh, came to stay with us because they were planning on going to the wedding as well. Josh hadn't ever been to Lubbock, so Christi and I decided he needed to experience the real deal. We took him to our favorite bar, Chimy's.
We asked him what he thought and he said "The margaritas are stronger here in Lubbock than they are at the one in Fort Worth." Of course we love the original better - who doesn't love a bar that's in an old house?! it has so much character.

So, we're old and left the bar around before midnight. Since Josh hadn't ever seen campus we decided to give him a moon-light tour. Plus we hadn't ever taken pictures there at night so why not right?
I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do that..
I can't believe we hadn't ever taken pictures on campus at night... I mean EVERYONE takes pictures on campus at night. I guess it just took us a few extra years.

Being back in the LBK with my Bestie is the best! Love you!!

Hey Crazies!

This last weekend I went to a couple of concerts. On friday night my sister and I went to see Eli Young Band (my favorite) at Lonestar Park. We got there in enough time to see the last few races.

I hadn't been to an outdoor texas country concert in a while and was a little surprised when we got there. I guess there's gotta be at least one  Crazy at every concert.

Seriously?! Who wears a mile high mohawk to a TEXAS COUNTRY CONCERT?! This guy, that's who. It was definitely a sight to see.

Anyway, the concert was great, despite the crazy drunkenness, smoking and cussing.
Mike Eli, Lead Singer

Drummer wearing awesome aviators.
How cute is this kid?! It was his 3rd birthday. Don't worry he was with the band.

My sister and I realized how much we actually segregate ourselves from worldly and secular things/situations. I'm not sure I would have noticed it if I wouldn't have attended this concert. Even if it is a different atmosphere, I still LOVE texas country!

my Sissy and I

I've had tickets to the Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum concert for about a month now which just so happened to be on saturday, the day after the EYB concert. Saturday morning I found out we were going to have 2 extra tickets, so I asked my friend, Traci, if she wanted to go. She said yes :)
Me and Traci
Allison, Julia and I
the rest of the world. it was so hot at this point.

I guess this is the largest outdoor concert I've ever been to, because I was amazed at how many people were there. I was so glad we had lawn tickets so we could spread out.

Love and Theft was the opener. I only knew one of their songs "Runnaway". They played a really short set, so I didn't get a picture of them actually playing.
Lady Antebellum

Lady Antebellum came on next. I love them and I love how many hits they've had lately.

Of course there were some crazies at this concert too.
she was dancin' up a storm!
this guy cared more about Tim's wife than he did about Tim.
Faith wasn't there btw.
it creeps me out to see people dancing like this in public..

She's not crazy, but guess who I saw!!
Melody! We'll definitely be hanging out soon.

And finally what everyone was waiting for...
the concert was at Fair Park and I loved being able to see the farris wheel

It was Fantastic - Probably the best concert of my life!

I had the best weekend!
